What is 40 Days of Worship?
It is a Holy Assembly of the Church of Christ, gathering to worship in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:24), in a focused and intense way. This expression of worship will take place all over South Africa but with a special focus of organised events in Cape Town, starting 24th September until 3rd November 2017. It will also be a personal commitment between each worshipper and the Father. People will prioritise and dedicate their time to worship the Lord publicly in malls, on beaches, on the mountains, in schools, in their work places or wherever the Spirit leads. Each individual will worship the Lord so that all may see His Glory manifested through His Church, united in one purpose as an expression of praise and adoration for Him.
Unity of the Body of Christ is essential, therefore our aim is to develop various connections with those who really want to worship and exalt King Jesus, the only One worthy to receive all glory and honour.
When is 40 Days of Worship?
It will be from 24 September 2017 until 3 November 2017
Where will the 40 Days of Worship be held?
All activities planned by the organisers will be focused in and around Cape Town, however worshippers from other areas are encouraged to organise their own activities to worship Jesus where they are, and connect with the 40 Days of Worship Team in Cape Town to share their testimonies and participate in online teachings and community.
Who is invited to the 40 Days of Worship?
Everyone that believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the King of kings, the only one worthy to be worshipped. Local churches are encouraged to get involved to support and spread this vision of seeing the Jesus Christ be exalted as we worship as one Body.
How will it be done?
People will prioritise and dedicate their time to worship the Lord publicly in malls, on beaches, on the mountains, in schools, in their work places or wherever the Spirit leads.
During the 40 Days various teams will be organised to lead worship activities. They will also be available to freely assist your local church ministry teams should they request this help. Local churches are encouraged to support this vision and organise and share their own creative worship activities. The website will contain calendar events, teaching material, testimonies and opportunities for you to sign-up and volunteer to help with the planned events. However, we do not rely on digital platforms – we rely on the Holy Spirit within every believer to call the body of Christ to worship King Jesus. Therefore, this is a time and opportunity for every follower of Jesus to devote themselves to intimate worship so that everyone may see His Glory manifested through His Church, united in one purpose as an expression of praise and adoration for Him.
